Today World Vets is participating in #GivingTuesdayNow, a new global day of giving and unity as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.

As you know, World Vets provides veterinary aid around the world. TOGETHER we have provided direct veterinary care to over a half a million animals, disaster response services to major international disasters, and provided veterinary training and long-term capacity building to hundreds of communities around the world. Thank you for partnering with us to make the world better for animals!

Our programs benefit a wide variety of animals on a global scale, including companion animals, working horses, livestock, wildlife and street dogs. In the Pacific Northwest, World Vets improves the health of marine wildlife by responding to injured or stranded marine mammals, and works to advance scientific knowledge and understanding to help conserve the regions critical marine ecosystems.

We are so proud of these accomplishments, but we can’t do this without you! Now more than ever, your support is important. We depend on your support to keep these programs going.

DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT

World Vets is thrilled to announce that The Dr. Ann and Ed Valenti Charitable Gift Fund has pledged to match contributions made to World Vets up to $10,000 now through May 31, 2020. Now Recruiting! Civil – Military Humanitarian Aid Missions 2018

World Vets is the veterinary non-governmental organization (NGO) currently represented on two U.S. Navy led humanitarian aid missions: Pacific Partnership and Continuing Promise. These missions provide medical, dental and veterinary coverage to regions in South East Asia and the Pacific as well as Latin America and the Caribbean. The goal of these missions is to strengthen alliances, improve upon the capacity to deliver humanitarian assistance and disaster relief and finally, to improve security cooperation among partner nations.

World Vets contributes veterinary manpower and skills to accomplish these mission`s VET requirements by organizing volunteer opportunities for veterinary professionals. As such, our teams work alongside and in collaboration with US Army vets and technicians as well as animal health care professionals and local veterinarians in host nations.

*Information regarding the 2018 Continuing Promise mission can be found here

*NGO veterinary volunteers will not be needed for the 2018 Pacific Partnership mission. As such, World Vets will not be recruiting a team for this engagement in 2018

World Vets Celebrates 10 Years!

This year marks World Vets 10 year anniversary! For a decade it has been our mission to improve the health and well being of animals by providing veterinary aid and training in developing countries and by providing disaster relief worldwide. As the info-graphic below shows, in this time, we have undertaken 223 projects worldwide serving over 135,000 animals and providing close to 60,000 hours of veterinary training. What’s more, all services and training have been provided at no cost for beneficiaries.

Why do we do what we do? We strongly believe that all animals deserve kindness and compassion, as well as excellent care. As such, we strive to create a world where all animals have access to skilled veterinary care. To achieve this we operate many programs, most notably veterinary field projects which provide direct veterinary care, in addition to our training programs for students and veterinary professionals alike.

Our work not only depends on the generosity of individuals, foundations and public support. We also rely on volunteers to help us deliver veterinary services and training abroad.Though our programs, we provide countless international volunteer opportunities for veterinary professionals, students aspiring to this vocation and for the everyday animal lover who simply wants to travel with purpose. Since our inception we have deployed over 4500 volunteers with the mandate to make quality veterinary more accessible.

We graciously thank all of our supporters and dedicated volunteers who have been with us throughout the years. Together we have reached a great milestone! We look forward to continuing our work and having an even greater impact with your help!
