Calling All Cat Lovers & Feline Practitioners

We have an upcoming field service project that is the perfect volunteer opportunity for cat lovers and feline practitioners. We will be operating a free high volume sterilization campaign in Shkodër, Albania from August 1- 8, 2019, and 70% of animal patients are expected to be cats!

Volunteer opportunities are still available for veterinarians, technicians (both licensed and non-licensed), as well as students and for general assistants (individuals with no previous veterinary experience). Find out more!

Booking a direct flight to Albania might be expensive from North America. As such, we suggest prospective volunteers look into booking a round trip flight to a major hub in Europe (i.e. Amsterdam, Bucharest, Rome) and from that location book a separate flight to Albania. We also recommend that volunteers search for flight options on kayak.com, and then book directly through the airline offering the best deal/itinerary.

An Outstanding Effort in Ecuador

Ecu17During the month of March World Vets sent a veterinary team to the Otavalo region of Ecuador in support of our small animal project. We have been working in this region for the past four years with local animal welfare group PAE Ibarra to control the street as well as owned small animal population. We thank Fondation Brigitte Bardot for their continual support of this project as well as our volunteers that put forth an outstanding effort which resulted in 229 free spay/neuter surgeries being performed.

Join us on our next campaign (July 17 -24, 2013)! Read more

Successful Spay Day Event in Nicaragua

For the last four years World Vets has been working with and training Nicaraguan veterinarians and veterinary students.  We are very proud of the skill level this group has achieved through their strong dedication to learning. This week, the NicaVets group held a successful spay day event at the World Vets Latin America Training Center.  In two days, 180 dogs and cats were spayed/neuter by this all-Nicaraguan crew.  Way to go team!  The Fondation Brigitte Bardot is a sponsor of the Latin America Veterinary Training Center which provides training to Latin American veterinarians.

World Vets Helps Animals in the Dominican Republic

World Vets was recently in the Dominican Republic where we provided a large scale sterilization campaign for the island’s animals. Our team worked in collaboration with a great local organization Asociación de Amigos por los Animales de Sosúa (AAAS). Together we operated a three day clinic in the coastal community of Sosúa Abajo.

All veterinary aid provided was at no cost and thus made veterinary care possible for those who would otherwise never receive it.

Prior to our visit, World Vets has been an ongoing supporter of AAAS through veterinary product donations.
