Volunteer positions are available for veterinarians, technicians, students and assistants with no prior veterinary experience.
What We Do
World Vets is a non-government organization (NGO) providing veterinary aid around the globe in collaboration with animal advocacy groups, foreign governments, US and foreign military groups and veterinary professionals abroad.  Our work spans 12 countries and 5 continents and addresses not only veterinary issues, but also human health issues impacted by zoonotic diseases in developing countries.  World Vets is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.

NICARAGUA

We work in 3 cities of Nicaragua:  San Juan del Sur, Granada and Little Corn Island.  All projects encompass small animal work.  The Granada project is also an equine project.  We send teams several times a year to Nicaragua.

PERU

Working in collaboration with Grupo Caridad, a Peruvian animal welfare group, World Vets has started an ongoing veterinary assistance program to help the dogs and cats of Lima, Peru.

ECUADOR

World Vets is undertaking a community-wide spay/neuter initiative in collaboration with the municipality of Ibarra, Ecuador.

This program is supported by the Fondation Brigitte Bardot of Paris, France.

ROMANIA

World Vets has a formal, written treaty with the city of Buzau, Romania.  Projects include both small animal and equine.

Project supported by the generosity of Cristina Peterson of Mesa, Arizona (formerly of Romania).

HONDURAS

World Vets provides free spay/neuter services and medical consultations to rotating locations in Honduras.    We also aid in the prevention of  zoonotic diseases by providing mass rabies vaccination campaigns and deworming programs. 

HOSPITAL SHIPS

World Vets is proud to be the Veterinary NGO represented on Pacific Partnership, an annual humanitarian aid mission in collaboration with the US Military, partner nations and medical and dental NGO's.

MEXICO

World Vets teams travel to Loreto, Mexico several times a year to provide community-wide spay and neuter services.  A noticeable differnce can now be seen in the stray dog population in this coastal fishing village.  No longer are there packs of dogs roaming the streets.

PANAMA

In collaboration with local animal welfare group SpayPanama, World Vets has provided ongoing veterinary support and teams to remote regions all over Panama.
