Volunteer Opportunities
- Veterinary field projects: Veterinary field projects are operated throughout the year and visit many different locations around the world. They are typically scheduled for a one week duration with four veterinary work days and are either classified as small animal, equine or livestock. To carry out veterinary field projects, World Vets recruits a team of veterinarians, technicians, students and assistants. See upcoming veterinary field projects here
- International Veterinary Medicine (IVM) Program: The IVM Program is World Vets student program for veterinary, pre – veterinary and technician students who wish to gain clinical as well as practical veterinary experience. As part of this program we have both short and long term opportunities for veterinarians to work one on one with English speaking veterinary students in surgery. Sessions are typically scheduled for a one week duration and are offered 12 weeks out of the year. Read more about the volunteer instructor experience here
- Civil-Military Humanitarian aid missions: World Vets contributes veterinary personnel for two annual US Navy humanitarian aid missions. Each year we look to recruit well rounded veterinarians with experience and knowledge in both small and large animal veterinary medicine, in addition to those comfortable giving presentations and taking part in capacity building of host nation partners. Priority for positions is given to World Vets members who have previously volunteered with our organization in some capacity as well as those who can commit to at least 4-8 consecutive weeks.
