• What is a fun fact about yourself? I don’t know how to rope a calf, run a barrel pattern, or carry a flag horseback, but I can pack a string of mules and guide a backcountry trip with no power or data service. It’s a lost art, and I feel lucky to have grown up with that lifestyle.
• What do you love about World Vets? The opportunity to combine teaching, learning, traveling and making a difference in a community while enjoying every minute of it!
• What motivates you to volunteer with World Vets? I crave traveling and exploring but regret and feel guilty when I travel for only pleasure. World Vets allows me to “vacation” with a purpose and have an accomplished feeling at the end.
• What would you tell future volunteers for World Vets? Do it!!! It is literally a life-changing experience and constantly reaffirms why I became a veterinarian.
• What was your favorite World Vets moment? I felt appreciated and helpful when my experience and willingness to teach and work was put to center stage for equine treatments and surgeries. I was proud of my ability to be useful and am grateful I was able to help those people and their horses.
World Vets simply could not operate without our amazing volunteers and cannot thank them enough. Click here to join the World Vets volunteer team!
