World Vets Helping the Animals of Nepal

The World Vets Disaster Response Team deployed immediately following the April 25th 7.8 magnitude earthquake and have been providing aid to animals in need. The team is providing field rescues, direct care, veterinary support for injured patients and support to local animal welfare groups.  In a country where 80% of the people live in rural communities and rely on subsistence farming, its especially important the animals are not forgotten.  Much of our work is focused on these rural villages where families are very concerned about their livestock that are sick and injured as a result of the earthquake.  We are also provide support for street dogs, companion dogs and cats as well as horses and donkeys.
