World Vets has launched a Student Ambassador Program to help inform students about international volunteer opportunities available through our organization. Additionally, World Vets has developed a NEW International Veterinary Medicine Program specifically for students starting summer 2012.
If you are currently enrolled in a veterinary school, pre vet and/or veterinary technician program, and have participated on a World Vets trip or have registered for one:
All applications received before June 2012, will be considered for the 2012 – 2013 academic year.
Veterinary Student Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in a Veterinary School
- Must have attended a World Vets trip or be signed up for one this school year (2012 -2013)
- Hold two informational booths and 1 lecture per calendar year; in a common student area offering information on membership and future trips and/or lecture- lunchtime or evening presentation*
- Promote World Vets through online venues such as online forums, Facebook(World Vets has a Facebook group and a Facebook fan page-join, invite your friends to join, share our posts, join discussions etc.) , Twitter, MySpace, Youtube, blogs etc. Write about your experience, post links, start discussions, etc.
- Complete and submit an activities sheet each quarter for a chance to win credits toward a World Vets trip and/or gift card
*Students will receive a packet that includes all the supplies needed to hold these sessions and extra goodies
Pre Veterinary Student Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in a Pre Vet program
- Must have attended a World Vets trip or be signed up for one this school year (2012 – 2013)
- Promote World Vets at your school by posting posters, holding informal lecures and/or through online venues such as online forums, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Youtube, blogs etc. Write about your experience, post links, start discussions, etc.
*Students will receive a promotional packet with posters and brochures
Veterinary Technician Student Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in a technician program
- Must have attended a World Vets trip or be signed up for one this school year (2012- 2013)
- Promote World Vets at your school by posting posters, holding informal lecures and/or through online venues such as online forums, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Youtube, blogs etc. Write about your experience, post links, start discussions, etc.
